Ben Toland, Chief Operating Officer, Prophet
Ben has directed local and global supply chains from grower to consumer, accounting for hundreds of millions of cartons of fresh produce and other commodities valuing billions of dollars annually.
Having seen the ability of technology to add value to an organization and return to the bottom line, Ben founded CitrusTracker; a grower and asset management software that manages all aspects of any real asset portfolio. Founded in 2020, CitrusTracker now has over one hundred thousand acres under management and thousands of users. Ben led all the design, development, and implementations, allowing him to spend invaluable time on-site with packers, processors, shippers, and farmers, learning the boots-on-the-ground reality of logistics in this industry.
Ben also serves as a management advisor to Sunkist Growers, Inc., the longest-standing agricultural co-op in America. In his time with Sunkist Growers, Inc., Ben led a successful implementation of Prophet Pr3, giving him a unique net user perspective on our system.
In addition to his contributions at Sunkist, Ben has also served as a management advisor to Central Valley Agricultural Partners, Bravante Companies, Howell Mountain Vineyard Company, Better Brush Products, Health Care Finance Direct, and International Forestry Company. Ben previously worked at Emerald Creek Group, LLC, and Pacific Agricultural Realty, LP.
Prior to pursuing his passion for a career in agriculture, Ben studied both Applied Economics and Agricultural Business, earning multiple Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Georgia. Since graduating, Ben has completed 3 post-graduate certificate programs – two at Cornell University and one at the University of California Irvine - Paul Mirage School of Business.
