Mr. Osborne grew up in Saegertown, Pennsylvania. A small northwestern Pennsylvania Farming community. He received a BS in Aquatic Environments which was comprised of six (6) minors. These were Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Math, Geology, and Economics. Mr. Osborne received innovative accolades for his Junior Thesis for the use of Sediment Dating & Analysis in determining the impact of Industrialization on Watersheds. He was published in the Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Hatcheries with his Senior Thesis regarding ion exchange in sediments resulting in the release of free Phosphorus from Lake Sediments. Don was then recruited by the EPA where he participated and completed a study on Acid Precipitation and its impact on natural waterways.
Mr. Osborne then joined the Private Sector. Don embarked on a life-long mission to develop and employ practical, commercially viable products, technology, and programs to meet the ever-changing requirements of water-related applications. He gained valuable experience with pathogen control in many water environments and conditions. His work has been in a variety of water segments to include wastewater, secondary re-use water, reclaim water, municipal secondary disinfection of “highly susceptible” hospital departments, municipal drinking water, cooling & boiler water, flumes, and field irrigation water applications. Don is an Owner of and Technical Advisor to several companies focused on the nexus between Energy & Water Utility Optimization as well as that between Food & Water Safety. Biofilm and Pathogen Control in these applications is critical. Don also acts as a Technical Consultant in a variety of other water applications with a proven track record for consistent, stable project success.
Don has applied nearly all tools available in the Water Treatment Industry over the last 35 years he has spent learning in the Field. He has experience in all segments of the Water Market. Don has direct access to and experience with every viable, registered, and properly labeled water treatment product on the market today. He has paired these products with leading-edge technology and service for many years. Don has actively engaged in responsibilities of training, budgeting, coordinating, and managing all aspects of Total Water Management Projects. These include routine service, new construction, O&M, investigative studies, new product development, chemical formulation, water conservation programs, etc. Mr. Osborne does stay active in validating new technologies and is leading the pursuit and development of rebates, incentives, technical assistance, and other financial support programs that could be offered by local, state, and federal government organizations.
Don has been actively engaged in evolving strategies to assure the interests of the Agricultural and Food Producer are always considered the highest priority. His devotion to water treatment brings experience in projects that include Water & Utility Conservation, Green/Environmentally Friendly Sustainable Treatment Alternatives, Asset Preservation, Maintenance Reduction, Hydrogen Sulfide/Odor Abatement, and Pathogen Control. Don’s unique education and business background has proven to provide consistent, reliable, and cost-effective solutions to LGMA/BUYER/FSMA Compliance.
