Greg Komar, Technical Director at CA LGMA. With over 20 years of experience in technical aspects of agricultural and horticultural production, predominately in fresh fruits and vegetables, Greg has served in a wide variety of roles prior to joining the CA LGMA.
Early in his career, Greg worked in areas including laboratory analysis, applied research, and seed breeding. Greg has also managed compliance programs for leading U.S produce companies and helped manage audit programs for leading certification bodies with operations in North America, Central America, and South America. Programs that Greg has managed include Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Organic, HACCP, GMP and Preventive Controls, GAP, Chain of Custody, Traceability, and Sustainability.
As the Technical Director, Greg helps to assure that signatory members are prepared to implement the LGMA metrics. This work includes working closely with the food safety community to assure the metrics are based on existing science and working with industry stakeholders to assure the metrics are current and applicable. Helping to develop, and deliver, training programs to the industry, and working with the industry stakeholders to continually strive for ways to assure the lettuce industry is producing safe, wholesome, products for our consumers.
Greg looks forward to continuing to provide the industry with exceptional service and to continue to advance, and improve, our programs as the food safety, and compliance needs, of the agriculture industry change.
