Since the company’s founding in 1993, Deerpoint Group has emerged as a recognized leader in the field of water treatment solutions for agricultural irrigation.
Originally based in Fresno, CA, Deerpoint Group was built on the philosophy of providing our customers with programs that truly define full service. For example, all of the on-ranch work, including chemical delivery, material feeding, equipment maintenance, and reporting, would be performed by Deerpoint Group field service technicians. This unique approach – coupled with superior product quality and patented delivery systems – set Deerpoint Group apart from day one.
California’s Central Coast vineyards were the initial market opportunity for our unique programs. More and more grape growers were converting to drip/micro-irrigation technology, but they were encountering plugged systems due to the interaction of certain fertilizers with poor quality water. Frustrated by frequently replacing costly sections of their drip systems, growers were grateful for Deerpoint Group’s innovative solution: a preventative maintenance/continuous chemical feed program and regular site visits by our field personnel.
Our business expanded rapidly on the coast, from vineyards to neighboring strawberry fields, and then to leafy greens growers who counted on Deerpoint Group for pathogen bacteria control. As Deerpoint Group’s reputation grew, so did the company, expanding to cover all of the farming areas in California, and then into Arizona.
We soon discovered that the precision approach we took in treating water was perfectly adaptable to fertigation. In 2009, Deerpoint Group’s chemical technologies expanded to include innovative fertilizers, micronutrients, and foliar products, including our patented “white box” and customer-applied fertilizers. And we also saw explosive growth in precision-fed, patented fertilizers at customer irrigation system sites.
It quickly became clear that the increased business would require more operational space. So Deerpoint Group relocated to a larger 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility in northwest Fresno and, shortly thereafter, another 10,000 sq. ft. facility down the street. Even this would prove to be a temporary solution to our growing needs.
In 2015, the company acquired a 12-acre site in nearby Madera, CA, and embarked on a large-scale construction project for our main headquarters. In April of 2016, Deerpoint Group opened the doors of our new facility, with 50,000 sq. ft. of office and warehouse space and a chemical blending facility. More expansions were completed in 2018, 2019 and 2020, including our own fleet of Deerpoint Group delivery trucks, a weigh scale and an additional 60,000 sq. ft. of chemical blending, reactors and chemical storage. Future plans include completion of a 40-car rail spur.
We take pride in our continuous growth and expansion over the years, and we’re equally proud that our Deerpoint Group facilities recycle all materials and have zero discharge.
Our state-of-the-art laboratory houses all of the highly-specialized analytical equipment and our team of trained professionals to support our customers with soil, water, and tissue analysis.
While Deerpoint Group has come a long way since our humble beginnings, we remain committed to the R&D efforts that have always enabled us to produce unique and innovative products and programs. We’re proud to have helped so many growers overcome challenges to achieve spectacular results, and just as proud that our journey has led Deerpoint Group to the forefront of our industry as a leading manufacturer of the highest quality, effectively priced grower-friendly fertilizer solutions.
We invite you to join us as our journey continues.
